new face on the blok

Have you met Marni yet? She’s come on board to manage the existing customer database and develop new business relationships, focusing on promoting Blok’s expanding product range.

Marni has a background in design, project management and account service, both in Australia and in the overseas market. She enjoyed working in Hong Kong, New York and London, but came home to Brisbane a few years ago and is here to stay. Her straightforward, candid approach to client service, sales and public relations is refreshing, and she is working hard to help build blok into a much bigger player in the marketplace. Give her a call on 3876 4422 to arrange an appointment to view our portfolio and obtain a blok catalogue, and she’ll bring coffee and cake too.

blok spins new web

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new website. She looks a bit like the old one, only much prettier! Make sure you add her to your favourites… The site has been redesigned to be more user-friendly, easy to navigate and allows you to zoom in on clearly displayed products and download catalogue pages as pdfs. It also enables us to instantly add new products as they are released, so check out sola, sunni, lola and verona as they have their web debut. Apartmentblok is a new section that provides information and images of our customised furniture solutions, from on-off pieces to complete packages. There’s a newsblok that will be updated monthly with news, photos and bits and bobs. Finally, we have unveiled our custom and install section, so that everyone can have a chance to view our growing portfolio of project specific pieces. Enjoy! www.blokfurniture.com.au

optus calls on blok

Since it’s release at Brisbane Indesign last year, our duo range is fast becoming a blok bestseller. Hassell must like it too, as a bevy of duo ottomans were ordered through our NSW Agent, Interstudio to take pride of place on the floor the largest single tenant corporate campus in Australia – the new Optus headquarters in Sydney’s Macquarie Park. Indesign Vol. 31 ran the Optus story, which saw the duo ottomans featured across a double page spread, looking splendid in Gabriel Europost Fabric. Blok duo is a versatile seating option, upholstered with a stainless steel base and available in an ottoman, chaise and sofa. Check it out…

custom install – GoMA

One of our favourite custom clients, GoMA, recently opened their doors to “Picasso & his Collection” – and we’re excited about what’s inside. Matisse, Renoir, Miro, Braque and Blok! Richard collaborated with the Interiors team on a range of custom seating solutions for the exhibition, and the client was very happy with the result (which was delivered on a very tight lead time). Two zigzag ottomans and a circle sectioned ottoman upholstered in economical Austex vinyl provide flexible public seating that can be reconfigured for a variety of events and usages. The exhibition features over 100 works from Picasso’s personal collection plus more than 80 works by the artist himself. So, make sure you pay GoMA a visit before the show closes on the 14th September, as this is the first time the collection has been seen outside of Europe, and is exclusive to Brisvegas. And don’t forget to visit blok for your own custom ‘work of art’.
